i've been messaging this guy from school for a few weeks now (completely as friends) and recently he confessed to liking me. i told him that i wanted to continue being friends for now but i wouldnt be completely opposed to having a romantic relationship in the future. im not sure if i did the right thing because i still talk to him (because i geniuinely do like talking to him) but i don't want it to seem like i'm leading him on. and as time stretches i have a feeling that we are never going to be anything more than friends. ugh what should i do??

You're really doing nothing wrong. Nobody would want to get rejected and lose a friend. The best thing you can do is continue the friendship as it is.
