I'll try to be succinct.
Basically, for a few months now my best friend and I don't seem to have clicked any more, and it feels like I am putting more into our friendship than she is. We mostly communicate through Twitter (since that's where we met in the first place) but for the last few months she's barely liked or replied to anything I post even when I reply to hers, and our messages are often very short, even though she is messaging with other people and replying to them. I post things I am sure she'd like, when she is active, and she doesn't even notice. She even forgot my birthday even though I gave her quite a big birthday message.
She also didn't follow me back on TikTok even though she said she knew it was me, which made me feel like she just doesn't want me around any more.
The biggest thing that's upset me is that I bought something from her Etsy store for my mum's Christmas present, and when I did she messaged me saying how much she appreciated it. Yesterday I texted on WhatsApp her telling her how my mum loved it. It's been over 24 hours and she hasn't replied but she has apparently been active. She hadn't even read my message and overall it's just making me feel really upset.
It feels like she's trying to shake me off, but I can't tell if I am being paranoid or not (I am a naturally very insecure person and have had some bad friendships in the past). I can't even be sure if she saw my message/if she's deliberately ignoring me or it was just a mistake. She's going through some stuff at the minute and the last thing I want to do is message her being accusatory and it be nothing, and then it all becomes awkward, or feel like I'm pressuring her into being my friend if she really doesn't want to be. But I also feel like it's unfair for me to be waiting around for her to notice me. Overall I worry that she's found better friends than me and so she's leaving me behind.
I love her so much and feeling like I'm losing her breaks my heart. Should I even bother trying to fix it or just let her go?
