Hi All,
I am working as a intern at a company and I have a great supervisor. They have given me good references and have been very accommodating. However, they expect that I continue to work in that role when I graduate (and I also thought I would be continuing there as well). However, recently I have been thinking hard about my career and I decided it would be best if I did another course at Uni and changed paths.
How do I tell my supervisor that I am no longer planning on working with them after I graduate? I feel quite bad about leaving since they have been a great help to me in finding other opportunities and experience. There was an expectation that interns would continue to work with the company ( but this is not a legally binding agreement).
Any advice would be much appreciated. I am really unsure about what i should say...
Thanks a lot in advance.

If they expected you to stay why did they give you good reference s? I think you should be honest and tell them that you are going with a different plan with your career goals. Then find a special way to thank your supervisor
