We adopted a great dane a little over a year ago, we asked our neighbour if she ever bothered him to let us know.
In the past our neighbour has screamed at other neighbours and we have recently found out he has a criminal record for violence. He is generally nice to us, until the other weekend... our dog jumped up on the fence and barked twice at a family passing with another dog. We grab her and put her inside.
Out neighbour then comes out of his house and starts talking to himself, then starts yelling at my husband that our dog is too much, then he starts screaming that he is going to kill my husband, then he goes inside his house and starts screaming the f word and screaming about other things, a few hours later he is outside writing in chalk all over the sidewalks "for our kids, no charging dogs" still cursing and yelling to himself. Now he is purposely trying to upset the dog, swinging his golf club right infront of our fence, playing basketball infront of our fence etc. Once the dog barks at him, he starts screaming and cursing again. We have security cameras now that are filming his outbursts. We are just hoping to get him on video screaming that he will kill my husband again and call the police with evidence. Our landlord wants to evict him, but does not quite have a leg to stand on yet.
We rent and are thinking about moving, but everything is so expensive and the location is great other than the one neighbour, we are trying to save to buy a house. Things are only really bad in August, our neighbour hates the cold and we never see him in the fall or winter.
Should we just move because of one bad neighbour right beside us? FYI we also live in a row home, so we are attached to this moron.
